Fees and Funding Options

 Standard Fee

$180 for a standard 50 minute consultation.

This is the standard fee without accessing any rebates or third party funding. You do not require a referral from a doctor to see a Psychologist, however you will not be eligible for a Medicare rebate (discount from the standard fee) without a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).

Please note that the standard consultation fee recommended by the Australian Psychological Society is $300 (for 45-60 mins) and therefore our standard fee is well below the recommended rate.

Medicare

The medicare rebate for visiting a Psychologist is currently $96.65 per session.

If you wish to access the Medicare rebate, you will need to obtain a referral (MHCP) from a doctor (GPs, psychiatrists or paediatricians) prior to your session.

If you are seeking a MHCP from your doctor please let the receptionist know as you may require a longer appointment with your doctor. The initial MHCP will enable you to access an initial 6 individual sessions with a Psychologist and 10 group sessions. Upon completion of these sessions, you may be eligible to receive an additional 4 sessions from your doctor. You are only entitled to a maximum of 10 Medicare rebated sessions per calendar year with your Psychologist. In some cases, once you have utilised your 10 medicare rebates, you may be eligible to access additional rebates under other local government schemes.

Private Health Funds

If you have access to psychological services under your private health insurance you may also be entitled to a rebate. The rebate provided by Private health funds varies depending on the health fund and your level of cover so please contact your own fund for specific information. You are not able to claim both Medicare and your health fund rebates for the same session.
